And I don’t mean that in the “ooh, I’m mentally ill, I have an anxiety disorder” way. I mean it quite literally: in my own head, I am often sick. Because one of the ways my stupid anxiety likes to manifest itself is via outrageous concern about my health.

CRITIQUING the CRITICS
Iiiiiiiiiit’s Saturday night! And you know what that means: while I recline under my couch-duvet with my cat and my partner and lightly snark on a Supernatural rewatch, I’m going to have a poke at the next chapter of Harry Potter and drink this large cup of chamomile tea and try not to let my cat spill it on me because she’s a bitch like that.

Alright, so sometimes Riverdale does genre parody, in that sort of sly, if-you-get-it-you-get-it kind of way. And sometimes, it just lifts every cliche from the genre handbook and crams it into one episode and dumps it on your lap. This week’s outing. The Red Dahlia, was the latter. And this time, Riverdale is going balls-to-the-wall with its noir.
