The Face of Bible John Podcast + First Two Episodes!

by thethreepennyguignol

Happy Sunday! I have something terrifically exciting to share with you.

Over the last few months, I have been working with the brilliant true crime writer/my dad, Steve MacGregor, on adapting his book, The Face of Bible John, into a podcast. I’m so, so proud to finally be able to share the first two episodes with you today! Any of you who have read Steve’s true crime writing will know what a brilliant true crime author he is – like his books, this series is meticulously researched and a fascinating deep-dive into a lesser-known unsolved true crime case.

The Face of Bible John tells the story of Scotland’s most notorious serial killer, nicknamed Bible John. In the late sixties, Bible John terrorized women in Glasgow and left a trail of unsolved murders in his wake. But is everything we know about this case true? And just what is the real face of Bible John?

Set against the backdrop of Glasgow in the late 1960s, The Face of Bible John is as much an exploration of Glasgow itself – the history of iconic Barrowlands Ballroom where the killer found his victims, the police force, contemporary media on the case. Taking on some of the major misconceptions around the case, as well as analysing the possibility of various popular suspects for the notorious serial killer, The Face of Bible John is a comprehensive, in-depth look at this compelling case, and the culture that surrounded it at the time and in the aftermath.

You can get the first two episodes via the RSS feed – they’re available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and will be updated weekly, so subscribe to make sure you don’t miss any! Please consider sharing this podcast and leaving a review if you get the chance – it really helps support our work. Thank you so much for checking us out!
