The Most Exciting News in the World (Plus Q&A)
I still can’t believe I actually get to write this post. But here goes. This is pretty much the most exciting, terrifying, holy-shit-this-mix-of-emotions-is-going-to-make-me-burst-into-tears announcement I’ve ever made in my life, and so I’m just going to blurt this on to your lap before I spend another half-hour dancing around the house with excitement.
My debut novel is coming out later this year. This will be the first full-length novel I’ll release, and my first fiction publication under my real name, Louise MacGregor (as opposed to the romance I’ve published under my pen name, Kara Lowndes). The name of the book? Rape Jokes. Yeah, I know, that’s how everyone reacts, trust me. But it’s not what you think.
Rape Jokes is a romantic comedy about dealing with the aftermath of sexual assault, touching on issues like sexual dysfunction and love, sex, and trauma after rape. It’s coming out in hard copy and electronic form in Winter 2018. You can find more information on the publisher’s website right here – shout out to Frayed Edge Press, who I’m so excited to be working with and beyond thankful to for picking up my weird little book. I can’t even begin to describe how thrilled I am to be bringing this book to you guys, and I can’t wait for you to read it.
Since this is my first full-length novel and my first publication not in the straight romance genre, I’m going to be running a Q&A on this blog in about a week. If you have any questions you’d like to ask about my upcoming novel (!!!!!!!!!!! I will never get tired of typing that sentence), please drop them in the contact box below – the name section isn’t mandatory, and you can submit anonymously if you like.
Once again, thank you so much for joining me on this incredibly exciting journey, and for all the support of the people who’ve read, shared, and commented on my writing over the years. I can’t wait to share this with you!
