What does life look like for a victim of abuse after the abuse is over?
So, the next season of Bojack Horseman is right around the corner, and, this being one of my all-time favourite shows ever in the history of television, I’m pretty fuckin’ excited! I wrote about last season’s dealings with perfect bottle episodes here, and the history of misogyny here, but this time I’m going for something a little lighter – well, as light as I can get while talking about this show, at least. With the new trailer (below) freshly released, let’s shoot some guesses for what the newest season of Bojack Horseman might hold!
So, as you may have heard by now, a Frasier reboot/sequel appears to be in the work; the show’s one-time star, Kelsey Grammer, is apparently shopping it around several studios in the hopes of getting it picked up, and I have some…thoughts on this matter.
We’ve all been there. You’re a TV writer/director and you need to turn in a script, but there’s a little something missing. Action? No, you’ve got that. Drama? That’s ticked off too. Dragons? I mean, yeah, probably that as well. Aha! You’ve got it. This is a TV show with women in it, and that means you need to cram in some topless scenes and jiggle some titties in the face of your audience.
Hello, my fellow bisexuals, assorted LGBTQ people, and miscellaneous straights! It’s Pride Month, and I wanted to write something fun this time around (with a little snark because, you know, that’s my thing). So I’m talkin’ about my favourite bisexual characters on TV, and some (those written by Ryan Murphy and Steven Moffat, mostly) that missed the mark. To the list!

So, I’ve been giving this blog post a lot of thought recently, and with Riverdale taking Yet Another Break for three weeks, I feel like it’s about time I wrote about it. Why do I love bad television so much?
The found footage genre is always one that has appealed to me so much as a horror fan. There’s an immediacy to it, a purported direct access to this moment and this person and this fear, that appeals to me: The Blair Witch Project is still up there with my favorite movies of all time, but the finest examples of the genre span everything from Ghostwatch to Grave Encounters to to Cloverfield to Baghead to Paranormal Activity to The Visit with dozens upon dozens of movies in between. It’s a genre that attempts to capture something that’s closer to reality than most horror films, and something about that, about the slow picking apart of the real world into some nightmare vision determined to keep me up at night in cold sweats, works.
Ah, another year gone by, another myriad of awful shows to whine about when I could just turn off the TV and get some bloody fresh air for a change. If you’re wondering why there are no movies on this list, my worst-of list for the world of cinema will be up on No But Listen later this week! But for now, let’s focus on the disappointments of the small screen, and count down the worst shows of the year.
